Meet our Mel O Teachers!
My name is Cathy Mussman and I founded Mel O Yoga in the fall of 2013 after living in the area for 4 years and realizing Palm Bay did not have a yoga studio. Having practiced and taught at many wonderful studios in both Melbourne and Indialantic I realized that the 35 minute commute both to and from negated the calm I shared with my students on the mat. One night as I drove home after class white knuckled and annoyed I decided it was time for a change and change we did! We actively searched and found a small yet inviting (empty) studio inside Studio 321 Fitness and with a bit (ok a lot) of love and a vision – Mel O Yoga was born! We lovingly refer to our studio as boutique yoga where we offer small class sizes that encourage our students to step onto their mats without fear of competition and or judgement.

Retired after 30+ years of military service, KP realized her body no longer responded favorably to the continuous high-impact fitness routines she was accustomed to. As the grandmother of three girls, the more gentle practice of yoga is something that would feed her ‘fitness’ craving without further physical wear and tear. KP pursued her curiosity for the history, philosophy, mythology and spirituality of yoga which guided her down the path to become a Certified 200- Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher in Virginia. KP developed the uncanny ability to apply personal and social skills to engage with yoga clients to assess where they are physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.
KP offers personalized asana, pranayama, philosophy, anatomy to guide clients through an amazing practice while creating an atmosphere of trust and ease. KP comes to Mel O Yoga certified in RYT; Teacher Training in Kundalini yoga; Use of Props; Asanas -Techniques and Options. Danielle is an Amrit Method certified Yoga Nidra facilitator. She was introduced to this ancient practice during her recovery from a traumatic brain injury while seeking an activity that could bring her relief with minimal exertion. After feeling the effects herself, and learning how Yoga Nidra can promote overall physiological and psychological well-being, she set out to learn from Gurudev, the yogi who brought these teachings to the US from India, and his daughter Kamini Desai at the Amrit Yoga Institute. Through her journey of healing, Danielle has discovered that recovery is a balance between challenge, to build yourself back up, and rest, to accommodate your body’s need to rebuild itself. Yoga Nidra (meaning: yogic sleep) fits beautifully into everyone’s life journey and Danielle’s passion is to bring this powerful relaxation technique to those suffering from chronic pain, illness, emotional stress or the stress present in everyday life. Danielle guides her students in the development of personal intentions that empower them to take their life in the direction they desire, breaking the cycle of stress, and patterns of behaviors limiting them from reaching their fullest potential.
